Canadian Cancer Society

Mission/Mandate

The Canadian Cancer Society is a national community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.

Palliative and/or End-of-Life mandate within the organization:

The Society believes that all Canadians have the right to high quality palliative care services at the end-of-life, so they can spend their final days with dignity, free of pain and in a setting of their choice – whether at home, in a hospital or any other setting.  To achieve this goal, individuals and their families must be supported by well-coordinated, timely, equitable, and accessible palliative care services
